Everything You Need to Know About the 2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid

A silver, 2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid driving down a highway.
Looking for a vehicle that balances power and efficiency is a daunting task, but Toyota has you covered. The 2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid brings it all to the table, from performance to technology, to safety and much more. Here's everything you need to know.

Powerful Performance

The standard Camry Hybrid Dynamic Force Engine runs on a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine that pumps out 203 horsepower. When teamed up with an electric motor and a smooth CVT transmission, this team maintains a fuel efficiency of 51 miles per gallon in town and 53 miles per gallon on the highway. The Hybrid Synergy Drive relies on a reliable hybrid battery that has been continuously refined for over 11 years. With the 2018 Camry Hybrid, that battery has been moved to create more space in the trunk, and it's had some weight shaved off to improve the vehicle's fuel efficiency. In addition to the Camry's powerful and efficient engine, the independent MacPherson front strut suspension and double-wishbone style multi-link rear suspension work together to deliver a drive that actively responds to the road, generating a smooth ride and responsive handling.

Innovative Technology

Hybrid performance isn't the end of the Camry's innovative technology. Start by immersing yourself in the luxurious environment by personalizing the Entune 3.0 display with your favorite color, which will project in the vehicle's ambient lighting. Using the same Entune 3.0, 8-inch display and the available Head-Up Display, the Hybrid Energy Monitor illustrates how power is routed to the wheels and how wasted energy is recycled to charge the battery. The 2018 Camry Hybrid lets you drive your way. Pick 'Sport' mode for a quicker acceleration and improved throttle response, or switch to ECO mode to adjust throttle for maximized efficiency. Or use EV mode to switch into electric driving that cuts motor emissions and reduces noise. Stay connected with Wi-Fi Connect powered by Verizon, which is a system unique to Toyota that can support up to five devices within the vehicle. Through an app on your smartphone, you can also use Remote Connect to hunt down your Camry in a parking lot or monitor guest drivers, like that teen who's behind the wheel for the second or third time.

Comprehensive Safety Features

Toyota proves that it puts its drivers first by including a comprehensive safety package called Toyota Safety Sense, which comes standard on all Camry Hybrid vehicles. Safety Sense includes a Pre-Collision System that utilizes both camera and radar to cue audio and visual warnings. If you don't react quickly enough, the system will apply brake pressure to guarantee your safety. Another system called Dynamic Radar Cruise Control brings safety to the convenience of cruise control by maintaining a set speed and simultaneously keeping you at a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you. In addition to the Safety Sense package, the Camry Hybrid also includes Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, 10 standard airbags, and much more. Whatever you're looking for in a new vehicle, the 2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid has it all. Don't believe us? A look at the stunning 2020 Toyota Supra GR.

The 2020 Toyota GR Supra Brings Power and Beauty Together

With such confident looks, it's no wonder the 2020 Toyota GR Supra continues to make headlines ahead of its fifth-generation run. After a 21-year hiatus, the two-door coupe returns to the stage with plenty of sporty panache and unwavering fortitude. Here's a look at the all-new Toyota GR Supra and how it effectively blends beauty and power into one exceptional package. Inspiration From the Past The first Supra appeared more than 40 years ago. Known as the A40, this model along with the 1980s-inspired A60, served as starting points for the next level of Supra blueprints. In fact, the 2020 edition features a turbocharged engine, an element first introduced in the third-gen A70. Meanwhile, a rear spoiler with protruding wing carries over from the fourth-gen A80. The GR Supra also builds on styling cues found on the Toyota FT-1 Concept Car, the most notable being a double-bubble roof line. more A Fearless Facade The 2020 GR Supra comes in three dapper trims: the 3.0, 3.0 Premium, and Launch Edition. The third in line is limited to 1,500 models and offers exclusive matte-black wheels and red mirror caps. It's also available in three exclusive dual-tone paints, including Absolute Zero White, Nocturnal Black, and Renaissance Red 2.0. Eight additional shades, including Downshift Blue and Nitro Yellow, are expected to drop this fall. Chief Supra engineer Tetsuya Tada also had a good idea of which elements would make his latest creation shine. Aside from the bold color choices, you'll notice innovative features such as a wide front grille with triple-niche design and flowing hood with dual air ducts. The front also straps in a pair of slender, jewel-like LED headlights, while the rear opts for a flared spoiler and sharp overhangs. Rounding out this unique ensemble is a fluid fastback roof and signature two-door setup. Spunky Engine Specs The GR Supra runs with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine and a twin-scroll turbocharger. Combined with an automatic transmission, this coupe earns 335 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque. It also reaches a top speed of 155 mph with an acceleration rate of 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds. Want a throttle uplift? Sport-Mode comes standard to give you more of an energetic feel right from the get-go. The engineering team also placed the engine further back and in a lower position than before. What this does is bring the weight distribution to a balanced 50/50 percentage. Toss in an adaptive suspension and Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, and you have the right equipment to easily dominate alternating terrain. A Modern Interior Finish Inside the 2020 Toyota GR Supra is a lavish setup with all the bells and whistles. A three-spoke steering wheel offers convenient audio and phone controls, while a gorgeous pair of Alcantara seats let you find the ideal fit for your frame via power-adjustable settings. And resting at the center of it all? An iDrive infotainment system with 6.5- or 8.8-inch touch screen. The 3.0 Premium further slips in leather-trimmed seats, while the Launch Edition adds a unique number badge and the signature of Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda. An alluring design. A dedicated powertrain. You won't find one without the other in the all-new 2020 Toyota GR Supra. If you want to find more updates or get notified when they become available, contact your friends at Smart Motors Toyota and let the pros keep you informed.
