Say hello to the 2026 Toyota bZ! This newest model has a lot to offer between new designs, updated technology, and better performance. Formally known as the bz4x, the bZ took on this new, shortened name for simplicity and customer convenience. Just because its name is simple doesn’t mean its capability is! The 2026 bZ has all-new offerings and features including a Front-Wheel Drive Plus model that offers more power and a higher drive range rating. Additionally, this latest edition is equipped with a North American Charging System charging port, granting access to thousands of charging stations nationwide. Now, you can charge almost anywhere, ensuring you leave no trail untraveled.
The 2026 bZ will have two available grades, the XLE and the Limited, offered in both Front-Wheel and All-Wheel Drive, with the XLE exclusively featuring the new Front-Wheel Drive Plus model.
Performance
More powerful than ever before, the 2026 Toyota bZ welcomes higher power outputs thanks to upgraded eAxles. With the introduction of silicon carbide semiconductors, bZ models are seeing up to 50% more power. All-Wheel Drive models can now produce 338 horsepower, making the 0-60mph time a brief 4.9 seconds. Front-Wheel Drive has also become more forceful, now being able to output up to 221 hp. Becoming quicker and more efficient, the bZ offers a thrilling ride and excellent performance, making it perfect for any occasion.
While the 57.7-kWh battery is still available, new to the 2026 bZ is a 74.7-kWh battery, granting a longer time between charges and increased estimated all-electric drive range ratings. Models featuring this battery can enjoy a drive range rating of up to 314 miles, depending on the grade and drive combination. Additionally, an all-new battery pre-conditioning function is introduced on all models, which maintains an optimal battery temperature, making charging in cold weather quicker. On top of this system, the bZ also possesses a water-to-water heat exchanger and heating adjustment valve in order to maintain battery temperature and speed up charging in the winter months.
2026 bZ All-Wheel Drive models include X-MODE; a system that adjusts vehicle function based on road conditions. Activated by drivers, X-MODE will automatically adapt brake control and power delivery at the wheels to ensure maximum traction and control. This feature gives drivers the confidence they need to crush commutes, ace adventures, and tackle whatever lies ahead.
Technology
Controlled by the 14-inch touchscreen, the Toyota Audio Multimedia system supports dual Bluetooth phone connection and is compatible with both Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Standard on all models is a six-speaker audio system that makes for easy entertainment on the road. Also available is the JBL® Premium Audio system with 9 speakers, including an 8-channel 800-watt amplifier and 9-inch subwoofer, which enhances sound quality and makes for a top-tier listening experience while on the go.
